Every show is a live round of the contest at 12 St. Marks Place. Tickets from $25.
How the Contest Works
Each night, comics get on stage and perform in front of a live audience. The audience helps decide who moves forward. The winner is flown out, put up in a hotel, and given $500 to open a show for Lil Mo on his upcoming tour.

The submission window for this year's Major Problems Comedy Contest ended August 17, 2026.
How it worked
Comics submitted their best 3–5 minute stand-up set as an Instagram reel, YouTube, Dropbox or Google Drive link with a $20 application fee. Every tape was reviewed, and selected comics compete live at St. Marks Comedy Club in front of an East Village audience. Finalists perform a 20-minute set.
